Who is Quinton Sampson?
Born and raised in Houston, Texas, Quinton Sampson is no stranger to the stage. His mother encouraged him to pursue his passions in the arts, taking him to auditions and practices, and making sure he continued to study his craft. At a young age, he began singing in the choir at church and in high school joined the jazz choir.
Growing up in a musical household, Sampson’s influences include musical icons Michael Jackson, Johnny Taylor, BB King, and the Beatles, as well as newer acts like Bruno Mars and Disney musicals. When he isn’t in the studio or on the road, he offers singing lessons professionally.Â
In 2019, Sampson collaborated with artist King Kanja and producer Samklef on the hit single “Wave” which made actual waves on Spotify, and in 2020, he released his EP #Heartstrings led by the single “Here Right Next To Me” with producer/manager Sean Blaze.Â
Sampson gained international attention as a fan favorite in the Netflix singing competition series “Sing On!” released in 2020, where singers from all over the world competed to win in each themed episode. Sampson was the winner of his episode “Love Songs” singing Mariah Carey’s “Hero”. Additionally, Sampson started a band during the worldwide quarantine called “Unbiased Live Band”. Currently, a four-piece including drums, guitar, bass, and keyboards.Â
Music is just one of Sampson’s passions. Like his brother Kendrick (Insecure), acting is a form of expression he is excited to pursue. Actors such as Robert Downing, Jr, Will Smith, and Denzel Washington are among those that influence his career.Â
Sampson is bicoastal, splitting his time between Houston and Los Angeles.
